Conventional liquid dishwashing soaps are over 80 percent water packaged in non-refillable plastic jugs, loaded with synthetic colorants and foaming boosters. Amelune cold-saponifies 100 percent pure food-grade coconut oil with sodium hydroxide. After four weeks of ambient air drying on cedar slatted racks in our Tampa workshop, the block reaches extreme hardness and near-zero free water activity.

Rub.

Rub a wet dish brush, natural sponge, or Swedish dishcloth directly across the dry block to produce rich cleaning foam.

A three-second brush swirl charges fibers with sufficient surfactant to wash a sink load of dishes. Place the block on a slatted wood soap deck or porous ceramic dish between uses so water drains away freely. One 220g block typically lasts a four-person household between 8 and 12 weeks of daily cooking.
